Fine engineering some would say, although when they launched the car apparently a shitload of them didn`t start (I read it somewhere), so a big question mark remains about reliability.
The more important issue is the complete lack of soul
Anyway, If I`d have all the money that I`d want, I wouldn`t bother to get a Veyron, for me it just isn`t that attractive.

oh boy this topic and poll is gonna start some arguments......
anyway i voted engineering masterpiece, simply because it has the best of everything, hence why for them to build one, they lose out on so much when bought by someone.as they said, they did it just to prove it could be done.

Engineering masterpiece as intended by most testers (recently Tiff Needell), making such 2 tons/1000 bhp car holding the road properly and safely is quite an achievement.
Now the best car in the world ... Everyone as his own opinion of what it should be and I guess that it even depends on the situation Sometimes I dream of a van/monospace for my familly and sometimes I would love a Supercar

ah yes i should have added that,i dont think its the only car in the world with this performance,im sure there are or will be cars that out accelerate it even if only just, hennessey (sp?) have already shown they have a car that can get that acceleration top end.just personally i beleive the veyron can do these speeds in a more comfortable and relaxed way simply because it has the best of everything on it for comfort and performance, but as said many times......so it should for the price you pay for one and for the price it costs to make one

The Ultima GTR TT will have the same problems other TT RWD HiPo cars do.... traction. For a 100% street car for the street, nothing touches the Veyron's 0-100 time of 5.5 seconds. Even the Ultima is a full second behind to 100 mph.
The Evo you speak of is a drag car, and overall POS... hardly what I'd call even "OK" on a road course. The Ultima will dominate on a road course, but most definitely not livable on the street. the Hennesey... I've spoken with Steve Millen who drove the cars in the R+T article.. the Venom is damn scary at speed, like all Viper's... but it will do it. Hardly comparable to everything that Bugatti accomplished in the Veyron.
Next week, C+D is doing a 0-200-0 shootout, and a new victor will be crowned in the 0-200 range... and likely the same car will be fastest overall
On top of that, the Veyron is the only of these cars which is truly exotic, and truly production.
It is the ultimate street car... the greatest car? no.

I've voted for "engineering masterpiece". Why? because having 1000hp in a relatively compact supercar (the Diablo or the Zonda are so much bigger than the Bug), being the fastest GT with a top speed of 400kmh, that actually handles pretty decently also on track, where you don't need to be Schumacher to drive fast and enjoy it, that can be a good daily car as well, with a marvelous gearbox, an astonishing V16 quad-turbo engine... you need more?

First of all the norris is good all round car not dragracer.
Rc developments evo is also very fast all round car both will beat the veyron round a track.
This also will beat the veyron custom jun auto nissan 350 z awd time attack
http://www.bigredcamaro.com/newsite/
All just as fast as the veyron expect maby on topspeed.

I based what i said on pure performance not on a full interior or production car etc.
I agree with you.

I agree, they also make a mistake when they (I think to Autocar but it seems most magazines makes the comparison too when they drove the Caparo recently) compare the Caparo T1 with the Veyron as one is a car you can use every day in every condition while the other is a barely legal race car ...

I guess i would take the veyron as my daily driver and the caparo as my weekend car/track car.
Maby i would tow my trackcar with the veyron.
