Stupid CL600!
I got a 01 CL600 w/ 36k for 55 grand. I thought i ripped it and got a steal. 3 Months later its been in the shop for a total of 1 month and 3 days. Just to keep this thing going without the engine light turning on every day cost me about 6 grand already. This car is a BLAST when it is working, but seems to me that Mercedes 600 is more problems than its worth. NEED ADVICE. Any help would be appreciated. any fellow 600 people out there please tell me if you guys are having the same problems. Either that or I got a lemon. If things continue at this route i'm gonna get rid of this and get a 645ci asap.

I don't have really an advice, but the new 645 is 1000 times cooler than a CL600 IMO.. and lucky you, able to choose such cars at 18

when i turned 18, i bought a 1985 ford bronco II.
when i was 19, i bought a 1988 saab 9000t
when that broke, (inclamant weather conditions) i bought a 1989 chevy celebrity
i hated that, so i drove it til it died
now i own a 1998 jeep zj...... still nowhere near a bimmer, or merc.
my recomendations are as follows
put at least 92 octain in.... being that your in cal. i doubt you can get much better then that. second, go to a driving school, cause if your driving such a baddass car, you better know the limits, and its fun . third, buy the 6.45 cause that is the best car ive ever been in. ive been in an sl600, it was fast, but no manuel option. man-machine interface is awsome in the 6.45.

Mom and Dad have been kind...... my recommendation is bug ur parents to buy u a Ferrari 355, if they will buy u a CL600 i dont see why they wont spend three times more to get u a Ferrari.

Look into the California "Lemon Law". If your car is still under warranty, there's a possibility that you could return it for being a "lemon". I haven't done much research on this, but I'm sure you could find a lot of information online, if you do a search.
From what I understand, if you bring the car in for X repairs within 1 year, and it's the same thing that's wrong, the dealer is obligated to take the car back. What the details of that are, I don't know. Obviously, thekey will be to have documentation that the SAME thing is wrong with the car EACH time you brought it in for service.
If it sounds like you might have something, I'd consult an attorney. There might be issues if you bought the car used, etc.
Good luck.

This story does not make sense to me.
Great that you got a deal like that - a 36,000 mile 2001 CL600 - that part I have no problem with.
The fact you are out $6 grand in repairs is.
In the USA, Benz's have a 48 month, 50,000 mile warranty.
That's 4 years - even if your "CL600" was built in July 2000 (which is possible if it is an early 2001 model) it should still be under ORIGINAL factory warranty - and any Benz dealer would be more than happy to see your car fixed - at no cost to you.
So - unless your car is stolen, modified, an illegal grey-market import - or flat doesn't exist - I really cannot see how you are having troubles getting your car repaired.
Between my colleagues, associates and friends - there is an SL500, CLK500 and a C230 - and based on their experiences and mine while accompanying them to the local Benz dealer - I am having a hard time believing your story.
How about sending me some pics of the car and the VIN # - and I will go speak to the service manager at the local Benz dealer and get you hooked up with the service you deserve.

Could be a salvage title from insurance recovery (flood, wreck stolen/found) which voids MB warranty. Only way I think you could get CL600 for $55k.

Damn, secondhand cars in the USA are for shure cheap, I've never seen prices
like that in belgium for CL's, and I don't even mension the extremely high taxes
and insurance. And I have to agree with the others that your story is a bit...mmm
how must I say it WEIRD
