Default Tesla Model S (Sedan)

Wow, that is a really good looking car. Reminds me a bit of GT-R, but looks good in 4 door.

Pretty affordable too at "only" 60k.

The reason? The Model S, an all-new 4-door 5-passenger zero-emissions luxury sedan powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. Unlike the Tesla Roadster, which is built in partnership with Lotus in the U.K. and based on a stretched Elise platform, the Model S will ride on a platform developed by Tesla.

Tesla says the Model S will get about 240 miles per charge while still offering "exceptional performance." Numbers being bandied about include 0–60 mph in less than 6 seconds. The Model S will have a base price of about $60,000 (versus the Roadster's $109,000 price tag) when it goes on sale in late 2010. Tesla recently hired Franz von Holzhausen as its chief designer; he was formerly the director of design for Mazda North America. His first project is to put the finishing touches on the Model S.

word is that more layoff's are expected soon.

The design reminds me of a mix between the Saleen S5 Raptor and the Chevy volt... not bad looking.
I just don't see Tesla succeeding in this market. Who knows.

I was real saddened to see Franz leave Mazda, the guy is one of the greatest visionaries in vehicle design, we used to call him "the stan lee of car design" I hope he gets what he wants at Tesla

Tesla laid off 1/4 of their employees. We're not going to see the Model S anytime soon. I doubt Tesla will make it through without some major intervention.

So... Is Fisker staring down the same path?

And as soon as you explain how to build one with current battery technology, they will. And then, the eco-weenies won't let the government authorize the construction of nuclear power plants, so these "clean" cans will lbe powered by good old coal fired power plants.

oh the irony of it all strikes deep and violently... LEFT wing vegans with brainwashed global warming in their heads... not wanting nuclear power, not wanting wind power because it kills birds and uglyfies the countryside, driving electric cars with batteries powered by electricity made from nasty coal.

why hasn't nature gotten rid of all these idiots I do not know
