Back in early August we showed first spy photos of an SLR McLaren Roadster 722 prototype just outside of AMG premises in Germany, and now Mercedes has announced its world debut in Paris this week. Based on the SLR Roadster with a 722 Edition upgrade, the fabric soft top super car is limited to 150 units, and will be built in the same facilities, McLaren's Formula 1 workshops in Woking, England, as all previous SLR variants. The 722 S will be available from January 1, 2009.
Power from the supercharged 5.5-litre V8 engine remains the same as its 722 Edition sibling with 650 hp/ 478 kW and clocks 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds and a maximum speed of 335 km/h (208 mph).

As pointless as it may be, i love this car..its brutal, sounds scary and looks great (IMHO one of the best looking cars ever)..too bad that just like all other variants, its another toy for the millionaires.
