Need Help Choosing A Car!
hey guys so ive decided to buy my own car this summer and have it around. i am really stuck on what to choose because there are hella cars in my price range. its still about a month or so until i will buy the car so i am open to all suggestions! i have a few that i have had my eye on.
90-94 Toyota MR2
90-96 300ZX N/A
92-97 Honda Prelude
93-96 Mitsubishi 3000GT N/A
91-95 240SX
i probably have a few more in my head but not have em right now. give me some opinions. they are all in the 200 hp range except for a few of them. i am really leaning towards the 300ZX because of the T-Top which would be nice for summer but i also love the 3000GT's badass looks.

dude, insurance prices on a coupe are going to ass rape you at 16.
hell, a sedan will too, but not as deep.
Given all the retard "drifters", i would stay away from the Nissans and the Mitsubishi.
Theft rates on the Honda are pretty steep just because they're one of the easiest cars to steal, that and good luck finding a decent Prelude that generation for a good price.
I would pretty much lean for the MR2 by default.

And in my opinion it is not smart to start driving with a powerfull car. Learn to master a slower one, then work your way up...

Thats what I did. Started with a Volvo 240D and after 2 years bought a Datsun 240z. You learn self-control, and at your age, thats very important.

None of them. Buy a cheap small car which gets you around and is cheap to insure.

I agree with everything minus the 3000GT N/A, it's FWD so no drifter abuse 
But I'd go with the MR2 out of that bunch. Good luck finding a one in good condition. There is a 91 Red MR2 Turbo with T-Tops for sale in MA. Everything is all original on it with 85,000 miles. I would snatch it up but the guy wants around $7k for it.

money is major because the ones up there are like 4k-5k ish and my parents will pay for insurance so i just need the car and the gas in it

Still ... you certainly don't need any of those cars. :roll:
Back when I was 16, I wanted a sports car ... rear drive and lots of noise. Then I realized that would make me burn more fuel, and probably crash. Let's be honest, there are no expert driver 16 y/o's out there. I got my turbo 9000 and life's been grand ever since. No speeding tickets, no crashes, and MPG around the 25 mark.
I recommend you do the same speed racer. (as in no early 90s Japcrap faux sports coupe!)
Sidenote: Why make your parents insure such a pricey car? For the same price you could get a very decent e30 BMW, or an older Starion/Conquest.

at the rate our fuel prices are going, save yourself 20 bucks a tank and go with the MR2. You'll probably still get pretty good mileage out of it (it's a Yoda after all) so you'll be paying much less than your friends

If you do get a MR2, just be careful when you decide to lift off the throttle or hit the brakes in a turn

Mr2 gets my vote! The first generation NA car was considered to be a fantastic handler. The turbo car is more oversteer prone so be careful.
