Default John Force injured in funny car drag race in Dallas

http://www.nhra.com/content/news/24436.htm

John Force went into surgery today after a bad crash with Kenny Bernstein today in Dallas. They were racing funny cars at the Fall Nationals. They crashed after both had pulled their chutes, so they were probably going 300 mph.

John Force is expected to recover, but he has road rash down to the bone on his knee. Geez.

What is being explained is that Kenny hit the timing lights in the middle of the track and may have thrown them under Johns car which caused his tire to blow and start the total distruction of his car. I couldnt see it but his car is apparently already in two pieces when he is t-boned by Kenny after he does the 90 in the middle of the track.

The link has the video about half way down.

Oh man, that is a crazy crash! I don't really follow this kind of racing, but thank God he's alive.

So you think his knee was grinding against that wall?

Road rash down to the bone..... ouch ouch ouch!

Funny car crashes are always so violent. I guess that's one of the reasons why people like them so much.

It's amazing that he could make it out of a crash like that. Dragster crashes are usually scary.
