I know what you mean but it's not the engine that gets hot. It's the exhaust-fumes that's hot.

Here's an engine dyno vid of a 427TT Lingenfelter engine which gets pretty hot as well. Pretty much all turbo-charged engines will heat up the manifolds to a nice red like that if they are pushed hard enough.
