I know what you mean but it's not the engine that gets hot. It's the exhaust-fumes that's hot.

Here's an engine dyno vid of a 427TT Lingenfelter engine which gets pretty hot as well. Pretty much all turbo-charged engines will heat up the manifolds to a nice red like that if they are pushed hard enough.

holy shit that was getting warm. im not sure if its the turbo or the exhaust manifold, but its glowing.

Yes, that is very common on some cars including the evo.
