It breaks my heart when people buy supercars, with no intention of putting said auto on a race track to blat around at insanely fast speeds! They are usually young and the reflexes are still sharp. Most people who get to buy a supercar usually do so when they in or past middle age. Unless one is a drug dealer

Silly female celebs in ultra-exotic machines, rappers, and Hollywood 'playas' being other segments of the rich and clueless. The Brit celebs seem to have more understanding and passion , i.e. true aficionados (such as Nick Mason and Jay Kay from Jamiroquoi). Whilst for the American celebs it is just about getting what is 'hot' at the moment.

But if they don't buy the uber-expensive cars, who will? Unfortunately the American market is the big spender when it comes for cars like Lambos, Bentleys etc...

edit:- I'm probably casting a stereotypical image (re: US celebs) and forgot people like Seinfeld and Leno, to name a couple. Both are car lovers of the highest order, whose collections and passion for automobiles I admire.
