Default Saleen car show/ factory open house Sept 10, 2005 feat. S7

I went to Saleen Car Show at Saleen HQ in Irvine, CA today. Predictably the most cars there were Saleen Mustangs. There were other Ford products and many classic cars, including Shelby Cobras and surprisingly, a Ford Capri. I have seen the most Ford GTs in one place, at least 4, and the highest concentration of S7s anywhere. There was a rare S7R competition tub (i think, because it practically had no rear cabin window), and the limited edition Tungsten Ford GT.

front - Ford GT

front - Saleen Mustangs

center - the main collection

the factory - Ford GT Tungsten

factory - the "assembly" line

*added

factory - S7 showcase

inside the factory

oddities/curios I found

-the Cafe Le Mans in the factory

-a Saleen Mustang with a glass roof

-an 80's Mustang with Ferrari 360 wheels

-the Irvine Police...to keep people from stealing expensive cars, i suppose

-Panoz AIV Roadster

-a Saleen S7R competition tub? note the tiny hole in the back of the cabin and extra bracing around the cabin

-random Ford GT bumpers in Saleen offices

-Mr. Saleen's hair-do, a great man though, signed me two posters

that's it for now.

^ most of the S7s were indeed twin turbos, with their gigantic pipes feeding the engines.

* well, they weren't really gigantic, but rather dramatic looking. beautifully done
