I'm sorry to disappoint you, but it's the nomal m3's engine, the 343 hp one! Hell, it's still magnificent!!!

Richard Hammond also wrongly claimed it was the CSL unit in yesterday's TopGear, but you're right, it has the "basic" M3 engine.

Yeah, I just saw the 4th episode and he did mistook it for a CSL unit! Well, it's not the first time someone in TG gives the wrong specs!

And sorry to dissapoint again, but the engine you can hear singing in that vid is a good ol' E39 M5 lump in the camera car, only that short fly by is the 6 pot sound. 8)

it aint the e39's M5's V8 that u hear, it's a V10, it's the new M5(or M6). recognize the noise anywhere...gr8 vid btn.
