Yeah, that would be some hellishly nasty chafing, wouldn't it?

And as to the carbon fiber and the crushing. Carbon fiber is some of the strongest and rigid material for it's weight, when properly molded, autoclaved, etc. It requires more energy to deform and shatter than steel. The more energy that's spent on breaking up all that expensive carbon fiber, the less energy left over to break you. I'll take the crumply flakes of carbon fiber, thank you
