^Of course, I think it's great that she can do it on her own. But for the future, she'll probably need some advanced assistance.

It was obvious she was on a quest for knowledge when she taught herself to read... trust me, it is a challenge when you have a 3 year old that can read... Wink
Thats pretty impressive

Im sure RC can afford to/will find someone to assist her if it reaches that level. He seems like he cares about his childs education.

Is that how you approach life? Having already pre-limited yourself?? It's not as if the child has been withdrawen from soceity and placed in a sealed room with a pile of books... all she is doing is asking for resources to read so she can learn about something that isn't offered in 3rd grade.

No - but right next to it o the shelf is a "Beginners Guide to latin" and next to that "Entry Level Latin" and next to that "Advanced Latin" and next to that "Collegiate Latin" and next to that "Doctoral Latin" ad infinitum...

I am shocked and amazed and rather taken aback by how self-doubting and self-defeatist people seem to be about education.

Is this what is taught in todays academic institutions?

What!?!?!?!? No, I'm all for further education. I'm just saying it's going to be much much easier with someone helping her. 8)

lol at this entire rant! RC i can see you stopped paying any attention to this babble long ago on the second page!
Anyways, It is great to see that your daughters intellect is on its way to surpassing her fathers and i wish her the best of luck learning latin and ancient greek! id be proud if my child even indicated they wanted to learn these languages let alone struck out and began to do so!
Mr vercetti, you need to calm down dude, i dont know why u are getting all bent out of shape, everyone is just trying to point out that children should be allowed to do as they wish, especially when it comes to furthering their education. No better time to start than the present!

^^^ Yeah lottsa babble - and well I gotta admit, I like drunk Ronin better than sober Ronin

And I guess the pace of our drive was so slow on Sunday I was having "Lesson 3" of "Idiots Guide to Latin" read to me as we were splashing our way down soaked country roads...
