My brother has bought a sony bravia, and it's a great tv. I love it

I prefer Sharp, what I don't like about Sony is that they charge you just for the brand name. IMO Sharp s look better and the designs are cooler

From experience I know JVC sucks :x

I always go Sony with electronic things, it fits the budget

thats cause the sony is LCD proyector, not LCD flat screen...
LCD Proyectors are cheap now... any brand...

They definitely are charging you for the brand name. If you compare it side by side, I think the Sony easily tops all the others.

But now, is it worth paying an extra 30% to 50% more for a 5% to 10% difference in picture quality?

I guess that depends on how much you love your TV.

totally correct, Sonys quality is a bit over Sharps, just in the color department, but Sharp handles better the blacks and whites. So in the end its the same thing. But Sharps design is cooler, they are the pioneers on LCD screens, so for price vs quality Sharp is the winner... I love my TV and I pick Sharp
