You can get 15.4", 17", 19" and even 20" laptops these days.

With DUAL SLI video cards, and multiple hard drives.

If you are looking for the most powerful laptop, don't even look at macbooks.

You won't find many games that'll run on mac's...

The Dell XPS laptop is probably one of the best you can get, but it's also quite expensive. It can however be had with a fast cpu, lots of ram, a good video card (which is fast and has 512mb of ram), and fast hard disks... They can also be ordered with a minimum number of software pre-installed, so that the end result isn't a "bloatware".

The two I am now considering is the Acer Ferrari 5005, and the Acer Travelmate 8215WLMi

Anyone tested either of these?

You can run any game for PC on a Mac, even while running OSX (using Paralells, software that also runs Windows at the same time)

But the best way to do it is to dual boot.

Haven't even seen those Acer's in person or read any reviews. Do a quick google search for them and read up on some opinions and reviews.

You lose special processing cycles when doing this, and whilst very nice looking, an equivalent Mac (processor/memory wise), the Mac will cost quite a bit more then a standard windows pc/laptop (at least in europe they do).

I'm not too fond of the emulation side of things for anything that requires intensive screen rendering. I do however take care of a whole bunch of servers running vmware esx, and for sharepoint, dc's, exchange and the like, it's ok.

Like I said, dual booting would be a better option and that a Macbook is not what you want for gaming.

All of the nerds are drooling over this newly updated notebook:

Falcon Fragbook DRX

* Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme X6800 2.93 GHz CPU
* 4GB 800 MHz (2×2048) RAM
* 17″ 1920×1200 px LCD
* 100 GB 7200RPM HDD
* 2x 160 GB 5400 RPM HDD
* 8x DL DVD +-RW Drive
* 2 x NVidia GeForce 7950GTX Go 512 MB Graphics
* 80211N Wireless LAN
* DRX TV Tuner

This thing is probably on par with my desktop that I just built. I say go for it Skaala.. just make sure you can get it in all black.
