This has been in development for a long time now. It's definitely a great idea though.

Your obviously not seeing the potential of this product.
Imagine a natural disaster rescue team using this, or how about a construction worker, there are a lot of great uses for something like this.
And whether you like it or not military technology is going to progress and become more advanced, and you have to remember that a lot of technology from stuff like this eventually filters down to general public.

Pilot, where are you from? You have been watching way to many conspiracy theory movies.
Evolution in technology is inherrant within mankind. It will never stop. Technology is also not used purely for evil purposes; unless you live in 1940 Germany.
I am quite tempted to call you a hippie.

As a former soldier in the US Army, I really can't see hating all military stuff, freedom belongs to those who aren't afraid to fight for it. And yes I own multiple firearms and thoroughly enjoy firing them. All of the major Western militaries are using video games to train their solders and pilots.
The 4th Infantry Division (Mech) at Fort Hood, TX has already fielded the Land Warrior system, with fully integrated computerized command and control systems, it will go quite nicely with the exoskeleton. With Americans getting lazier stuck to our computer/game consoles, this gives the average geek a chance to get their first confirmed kill. HOOOAHHHH!!!
