The only thing missing in this unoriginal and untrue post is the left turn NASCAR jab.
Anyway, Leno and Clarkson are both funny to me but in different ways. Leno is a smart fellow and has quite a few reservations as he should. This Jalopnik post was interesting.

I wouldn't watch it. Sticking to the real thing. I'm afraid the corporation have to much say in what goes on Tv. Can you imagine them saying anything bad about let say Ford or GMC lame cars?? Ouch goodbye fund or see ya Mr. Adam Corolla (that must be a joke right??). Hopefully they won't follow the same model as the original Top Gear. Hopefully about good ol' American Muscle Cars now that's something else.

I understand it will probably be a bad show, but its going to be about cars, so I would definitely watch it. I dont get speed so I am starved of car shows. so it gets me by default.
Fingers crossed

Apparently Dan Neil was a candidate but now his contract with NBC has expired and judging by this article, Tanner Faust is another one of the hosts
Anyone know who these 2 guys are?

I've seen some of AC's old datsun stuff. One is a repli-racer of pete brocks car. He is a hardcore car guy.

No US Top Gear... for now.
The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the first announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on NBC.
...
Several notable pilots didn't make the final cut and won't be seen. These include a US version of the hit British car series "Top Gear", the Barry Sonnenfeld-produced legal drama "Play or Be Played", the Conan O'Brien produced comedy "Man of Your Dreams", and the Brett Ratner-produced cop drama "Blue Blood".

There's a rumor that TG won't start at the date that was given to us.
Oh, and there might be a US Top Gear this year afterall.

Meh I can't see an American version of Top Gear being any good without the original cast, if NBC does decide to go ahead with it, it will probably only last a year, top gear fans are just to into the BBC's version of it.
