Qatar Living
Hi Guys,
I recently received a possible job position in Qatar. I was wondering if anybody has been there, what do you think? Is it safe for Americans to go over? Is it a great place for a single 23 year old? Any info would be awesome.
Big thanks

Never been to Qater but I would say that it is safe.
Qatar is a growing country and it's a good time to be there right now.

I lived for my first 5 years in Qatar and my dad still lives and works there. There is quite a large expatriot community of British and Americans. There is not a great deal to do but there is more and more every year. I personally would recommend it.

Can you drink booze with your wife/girlfriend in public - and would she be allowed to wear tight ass jeans and tank tops with her nipples protruding?
Just wonder is all

As long as you don't go too far then the worst that'll happen is getting stared at by some pervert. Drinking in public is a bit of a no no but there are plenty of bars (hotel bars though) but they get reasonably busy.

To be fair chances are the money you'll be going to will be high livings cheap and the weathers good (although i am comparing it to Britain) the summers are hot above 40 degrees C but its bearable.

Yes you can. You don't even have to conceal your consumption by wrapping a paper bag around the bottle, at least in NSW. However, councils can declare alcohol-free zones.
