Umm, not sure yet - we have to look into places to go.

We will post our intended place before booking to let people get to the same place or at least near.

Allright.

The choice is basically Nürburg or Adenau.

Nürburg is a bit smaller, but has the Pistenklause. It's a restaurant full of motorsport pictures where a lot of 'ringers' go. Sometimes, Sabine Schmitz works there, serving food and drinks. You can get a very decent meal there, although I'm not impressed by the kindness of the service (never been served by Sabine though ). I don't know how nice it is at the bar, later in the evening, but I think there will still be plenty people.

Adenau has more restaurants and probably more bars too. Personally I have little experience with Adenau, so maybe someone else has more info on that.

I think we should really try for the same hotel

If there is a 'core' group of people who are definitely willing to commit soon, we could try and find a hotel that people could then try and stay at later on e.t.c

The sooner the better really. Hotels are not too much, so even if you did have to cancel, it would hardly be the loss of the century. In fact, we probably piss more money up a wall on a Friday night through beer!

Count me in. Dean and I can either go for two singles or a twin. If it comes down to it, we can bring an air bed and one of us can sleep on the floor - I hear that squeezing as many people into a hotel room is very 'European' - of maybe French!

I'll help ease some of the pain with hotels.

http://nurburgring.org.uk/where_to_stay.html - Courtesy of Ben Lovejoy "Ringer"

If you have any 'Ring questions...Ben Lovejoy for the most part has the answer.

And of course this place will have the most room and from what it looks like you can get a deal at 110 Euro for a 2 person room or 55 Euro Per Person.

Still, the Dorint is expensive when compared to most hotels in the neighbourhood. In a simple hotel in the vicinity of the NS you pay almost half.

I posted this link before in this thread, but since it might be hard to find, here it is again: http://www.wohlsein365.de/hocheifel-nuerburgring/. Check under "Buchen & Reisen" for hotels. Hotels in Adenau are on page 1, hotels in Nürburg on page 3 and 4.

I've been looking into some of the cost of travelling from the UK. I thought I would post them up to help people out.

Eurotunnel - £88 return for one car, this is based on travelling in the early hours.

P&O Ferries - £67 return for one car and 2 people. Early hours once again.

Hope this helps anyone planning the trip.

Looks like Dean will be booking our Eurotunnel tickets on the next pay day.

We have decided to drive to Germany very early on the Sat (Eurotunnel before 6am) and then come home at our leisure on Monday.

Do people know of any nice back roads around NS e.t.c

Wow, this is turning out to be one hell of a JW meet.

I had no clue the "toll" at the Nurburgring was so expensive per lap! I wish I could go to Germany for that weekend but I don't have the money/time to do so..

You guys are gonna have a hell of a time!

Damn laps are getting more every year. More fan base+taxes=19 Euro. Three years ago it was around 14 Euro...oh well.

Hell yeah just counted we are looking at 25 members so far?! Great number.

Out of curiosity what car will you be showing up in or you may think you be showing up in if all goes well as planned
