It's a TechArt. I don't know much about Porsches, but I think a TechArt Turbo is quite rare.

How can Porsche's be so cheap, fast and reliable when compared to Lambo and Ferrari. They cost much more but not much lighter or faster (certainly they are more beautiful for me). I explain this with the volume of production that hence decreases tooling costs and R&D costs per car, but I suspect there exist some magic here

Consider the more simple engine than the other supercars, and the huge bank Porsche runs. They can sell them cheaper and more people buy them.

268 were produced, with roughly 1/4 of them being "S" models, mainly being less weight, and tighter suspension. Unfortunately, I think its hard to know how many are left, and/or were destroyed.

exact numbers, I was a bit mistaken
...in ´87 113 959´s where built and in ´88 again 179 and all in all PAG built 29 959 "S" - today one can buy a "as good as new" one with only some hundreds of km´s on the clock for ~350k €

A separate source suggested that there were 37 S models...
If you saw the interior you could probably tell, as the 'S' didn't feature air-con, central locking, electric windows or mirrors and had cloth-trim seats instead of the leather ones found in the normal 959 I also recall reading that the 'S' didn't have a passenger side mirror - so that would be an obvious way to tell
