Some quick advice needed, got a night-time trackday tonight.....

I want to take some panning shots of my mates car, whats the best way to do them in (very) low-light? The track has flood-lights but I will need to use a fairly long-shutter speed to expose them properly.

I will be a fair distance from the track and have to use my 70-300 (prob at 200mm+).

one from me from the BEMA rally, 1/250, at18mm and iso1600 .....of 490pics, 60 or so turned out ok
