I would gor for Focus tdci. One of my uncle has c-max tdci and it is very very good car. Tdci engine has enough pwer and it is really economic.

Update:

After test driving it earlier today my dad can't stop grinning...

...he's quite taken with the performance of the Fabia vRS so it looks like Dad is going to get one of these little Eastern European beasties:



In metallic black, with the following options:

Xenons, CD Changer, ESP, Cruise Control

1.9 TDi PD
130hp
228 lbft
1300 kg
FWD
6 speed manual
0-60 around 8.5sec, 130mph

Bear in mind he currently drives a Peugeot 206 1.4 diesel (75hp?), this is quite a step in the sports direction for my dad!

great choice - was discussing this car with my mates a while ago and we liked the looks :good:

200+ lbft will certainly prove useful for overtaking etc

I presume he is in the UK? Then he will have a rather rare car on his drive - you don't see that many

At least when he pulls up next to the £17k + Golf 2.0 GT TDI he will be able to take a smug grin 8)
