OMFG
With so much destruction, the M5 should be going really fast.
Some years ago, I would say that the passengers from the M5 were death. But nowadays, with some much technology it's all diferent. Airbags saved them 8)

No video but action shots of during the crash and after the vehicle comes to rest.
X5: http://www.iihs.org/vehicle_ratings/ce/html/00023.htm This is at 40MPH but you can see how it would escalate from there. The passenger compartment is well intact. With seatbelts, you'll probably have no more than a sore, bruised knee from the knee bolster.
S10 Blazer: http://www.hwysafety.org/vehicle%5Fr...html/96002.htm this is the same test. Look at where the front wheel is during the crash and deformed the passenger compartment is.
This is why i said the X5 driver will more than likely buy another one when he gets his check

wow what a crash, thats some serious carnage. Lucky both drivers survived, those diplomatic plates sound good, as long as you respect the other drivers on the road, looks like this guy didnt.

no way. The M5 would have toasted that little "mini". I think the M5 was just going all out because he could. IF they were racing the race started miles back and the M was just rubbing it in.

Holy crap! It looks like you're a complete moron who doesn't have the slightest idea about crumple zones and methods used to extract injured people from crashed cars.

with a 97 540i but the structure of the M5 wasn't changed a whole lot.

Holy. . . you would think that people won't survive such a crash.
You are absolutely right. Safety has definitely gone up in the past 10 years, even in the past 5 years!!! Man, now they are even designing cars that are Pedestrian safe too!!!
Have you guys seen that old 5th Gear Video, one where they test new cars vs old cars in crash test? It is a pretty good information vid.
