Its probably a FWD Alfa with a Ferrari badge
That's why they say "4WD option" - that means they stick a rear diff on the FWD platform

"According to Automotive News, Ferrari is hard at work on a new “entry-level” model (we use that term loosely).
Details are scarce, but the model is reportedly a 2+2 with a V8 powerplant and a hard top convertible mechanism, all of which sounds suspiciously like Maserati’s plans for the next GT.
The publication believes that the model will bow in Europe sometime in 2008, with a U.S. launch likely the following year." - Winding Road (taken from Automotive News: Ferrari plans entry-level V-8 2+2)
Not sure how reliable this is. I suppose this is different from the Dino. I agree though that Ferrari would lose exclusivity if they carry out these rumored plans. And please, I don't want a Ferrari SUV (as Lamborghini is supposedly planning) !!!!

Sucks if this is true
Plus, it would make the Ferrari management liars since I have read a reputable interview where they said they would concentrate on other areas to make profit rather than devalue the brand with lower cost GT cars.

Yeah....
Well on the plus-side now maybe someday I could afford a Ferrari. But then I'd WANT something else. Which is a sad thing to imagine

Anyway - I think this is just another rumour. It's been all over the net for the last two years that Ferrari was working on a Dino-style entry-level car... but I still don't think they will go for it, especially considering the HUGE financial success of the F430 :bah:
|
Yeah exactly, why would they do that :bah:
I bet Enzo Ferrari would turn in his grave if this was to happen :x

I was just browsing the CAR magazine site and guess what they'll have in the next issue...
Quote: "It's true! After all the denials from Maranello, we've got the exclusive news that Ferrari will build the Dino – a spiritual successor to the super-cool '60s icon. Full details inside…"
I still doubt it, but CAR ussualy doesn't talk shit, so...but I still doubt it, and I wish it wouldn't happen
Anyone interested, go to their site and click on what'll be in the next issue and scroll down 8)

From the stats they've quoted, I cannot understand how it only gets compared to a Carrera S!! It would eat it alive.
