I quit too, and although I wasn't collecting anywhere near as fiercely as you were, let me assure you you'll make it...
And then the moment comes when CMC brings out their stunning Maser 250F and Ferrari 250 SWB. I still don't know what'll happen when I see one for sale at a good price for the first time... :changes:

congrats on the house! a great investment, and makes sense to hold off on the models for now... besides 5-10 models a year is hardly slacking IMO, that way you still do get your fix, just buy the ones u really, really want! 8)

If you think models cars cost a lot, think again...
My father has been accumulating model railroad models for 40 years - and at last count had about 100 odd brass steam locomotives... average cost about $1000 a piece... add to that the thousands of feet of track, hundreds and hundreds of pieces of rolling stock etc....
His insurance agent smiles like a cheshire cat when it comes to premium time

I actually have 2 of his latest aquisitions here about to ship off... many brass loco collectors have slowed/stopped collecting the brass stuff, as the new metal/plastic super detailed stuff(with digital sound and control built in) runs better, is better detailed and costs about half.. this just means he can get twice as many on his shopping sprees...
This is just a sample of the ebay mania these old bastards participate in when getting rid of their older stuff...
