The rear Wing is too ugly, but this Corvette is a real beast.

Looking at the rest of the car, the cage, license plate, massive rear wheels I think this thing might need the wing. It doesnt bother me too much that its on there, im not opposed to wings as long as they help the handling of the car.

I have actually confirmed today - that car IS a One Lap car - purpose modified for the event.

I am planning on getting some pics and video of this car (and the others) in action.

I am driving up to Chicago, then over to Indiana later today.

Some friends of mine are running cars in one lap. Tell the guys with the corner-carvers skull and cross bones stickers that kali9934 said hi (most of them know me by my real name, but a few don't).

Why would he do that - maybe he needs a convenient dinner table while on a road trip

OK - I have arrived in Illinois (actually 3 hours west of Chicago in Moline) after a 15 hour straight drive (including all stops) - 1100-odd miles, avg speed 66mph, 26.7mpg (thats 8.8L/100km for you doubters.. see the Z06 can kick ass and save gas... ) and feeling about as refreshed as when I did the trip in my Lincoln Town car.

Off to watch the start of The Cannonball Run, One Lap of America tomorrow.. and incase y'all missed it - the car at the start of this topic is competing, so the wing is anything but rice.. It is a functional component...

Just got back to Moline, Illinois from Indiana - I drove clear across Illinois twice today... boy this rinky dink state is small... - I am guessing Houston and suburbs takes longer to cross..

It was great meeting Dan and Bob (owner and co-builder/promoter of the car) this afternoon - the car looks better in person.

The ACP carbon fibre kit looks the way GM should have made the Z16 - you can see the weave througn the finish...

I will post some pics as soon as I track down an Card Reader - so it is off the Wallymart to go buy some gadgets

BTW - saw and heard a Mallet CTS-V... All I can say is that a Caddie shouldn't sound like that - or rather, if you drive a Z06 then the only way you would drive a Caddie, is if it did sound like that...
