Go Raj!
Didn't Ford just post their largest quarterly profit since 1998 last week? .... after dumping Jaguar. Ford had brought them to being able to be a modern competitive brand... yet still losing?

So they've paid all their debts off? And Jaguar make better or worse cars without Ford's ownership. Oh and Aston Martin seems to be flourishing too.

How isn't British? Designed and built in Britain??

India is part of the Commonwealth anyway.

Sony designs and assembles some interesting devices outside of Japan, does that make those devices "not Japanese"?

Britain has no auto industry - the last "great hoorah" was Leyland.

Yep, sad that the lasting legacy of the British auto industry is the Austin 1800

Didnt the Dutch gobble up the trucks and the Swedes the bus divisions of Leyland?

Typed slowly so the socialists can understand:

Lamborghini hasn't been Italian since Chrysler owned it. Probably explains why the Countach was the last truely Italian lambo as well. Hell even the 25th Anniversary Countach looked like some Detroit-refugee bodykit special.

No co-incidence it was debuted a year after Chrysler moved in

Surely Budweiser is quintessentially American, or at least it's from the United States. Yet is owned by the Belgians.

Funny, they seem to be doing a roaring trade.

Also, this idea of America, while in New York loads of people described themselves to me as Italian or Irish, I think they meant of Itallian or Irish decent. Does this mean they feel more Italian than American.

I suppose if you're a country of people who are essentially 2nd/3rd generation immigrants this is how it'd be.

In all fairness, what would you call McLaren then?

Yes obviously, rubbish, a world championship and the MP4, which it sounds a bit like is going to be the best sports car in the world.

Under discussion was sports sedans, not race teams.

2 totally different business models.

The MP4 is a car without a class.

The F1 at least created a class.

Back to the fact that Jaguar is a diluted has-been of a brand that has no more unique sedan style than a Hyndai Elantra is a luxury limo.

Looked at, seen and dismissed the new XF - what a bland Volvo looking heap.

The latest crop of Jaguar designers need to be introduced to the XJ and other classic and beautiful Jaguar designs. This new tripe is just that - tripe.
