thats why you compare the CS to the GT2 or GT3. Also i think id take the Porsche over the ferrari for realiability, and drivability. I think id take a Gallardo over a 430 too, at least when lambo upgrades the HP numbers and makes a RWD version.

Dunno why but I doubt it.

Well going by 'ring times

7:46 - Porsche 996 GT2
7:56 - Porsche 996 Turbo
8:07 - Porsche 996 GT3
8:09 - Ferrari 360 Modena
8:17 - Porsche 996 C2

a 996 GT3 is about 10 seconds faster than a 996 C2 and a 996 turbo is about 10 seconds quicker still.

So if a 997 C2 S is about as fast as 996 GT3; if gaps between the models stay roughly the same then the 997 turbo will be about 10 seconds quicker than the 996 turbo.... which is about 20 seconds a lap faster than a 360... I don't really see where ferrari can get that extra 20 seconds from to be honest....then you've got the turbo S which will be faster still...

Obviously this is just a rough guide but I really doubt the turbo will be slower than the 430...

But whatever i'd take the fezza any day of the week

Anyway, for the 996 TT S vs. F430 comparison I think the Ferrari did great, both in the track and on a straight line.

Like it has happened before, the Magazine beaten Ferrari's official numbers, which is only a good thing.

I'd like to know the course in which they did the test tough...

And while 1.6 seconds isn't a big difference, we have to take into acount that we're talking about a small track... And well, the Mag who did the test does have "friendly" connections with Porsche, so...

As for the 997 TT vs. F430 discussion that's going on, I think the 997 will be at least on pair with the F430, but I'd be surprised if the difference (for both sides) was big. Porsche's biggest advantage is the fact the the 997 Turbo will be released after the F430, so they know what they have to do to beat it (performance wise).

And like some have said, even if the 997 Turbo was MUCH faster than the F430, I'd take the Ferrari any day over it... One of the reasons is the fact that I hate the looks of the 997 series.
