For the number of cars aston makes each year, it's kinda hard for them to collect reliability data for the car. It's hand built too, so the consistency is always a problem. On top of that, DB7 is built on the decade old XJS platform. After all, it's all about the look!
I heard they're coming out with the DB9 in 2005 (saw a spy video). The "baby aston" V8 (AMV8 concept) is pretty nice too. The DB9 and V8 will be using a new aluminium platform so performance and reliability should improve. 0X

i was only joking. dont get me wrong i love ferraris (more than life itself). I plan on getting a 93 512 tr and a 355 both red with tan interiors. i still think aston martin makes a good looking car.

hehe, well you're used to driving a Ferrari and a Lambo so I can see that you might think an Aston Martin is dull.
I don't think so however (I'm used to driving my moms Yaris you know - no not the Verso). They may weigh a lot and they aren't very sportive but I think they're improving. I don't really like the look of the DB7, the GT is an improvement however and the AMV 8 is even a lot better... Now lets hope they make it more sportive ...

Conclusion: The looks of the DB7 are good but not compared to the likes of a Ferrari. The realiabilty is iffy, and the performance is mediocre.

We all know what Ford can do in the handling and performance department, let's hope that's what they will do to the new aston. With the aluminium platform, the weight issue should be reduced by quite a bit. The AMV8 is "only" 1500kg.

Yep, but the looks, that's something you've got to make out for yourself.
It's like women, sometimes when I go out a friend of mine says: ow look at her, isn't she hot and then I think, yeah dude in the same way your mother is hot but I just say: not my type. And sometimes you've got a friend who has exactly the same taste in woman as you, and that's cool
tastes differ!!!

Depends on where you live, a DB7 can be more beautiful than a ferrari. Since when you see a rapper driving an aston? Shh! Don't give them the idea, don't want to see them ruin the look of the car.

You're so right zippo! So, the aston is a supermodel (high maintenance and rare but not "beautiful" for everyone) and ferrari/lambo are the wild ones you see at the pub.
Best solution: get both!
