Yes, I know that is your opinion and not a fact.
LOL....yeah..... well the S beats the M on the track with the same driver......you just kling to the illusion my friend....

Yes, by beginners like you. You sure is a funny guy.
And If you call the stig a beginner you should stop smoking the crap you obviously do....
M3 is faster than a S4 around Nordschleife and Hockenheim, done by the same driver, a real pro. So what does your post proove? Nothing.
We can go on forever and we will never know the real answer, which of them is the fastest car. Let us end this with you taking the S4 and me the M3. Fanboy war is old school.

the stig when doing the lap with the S and the M where Perry McCarthy he is kind of a pro too, you know, at least far from a beginner wich you so lovley tried to make a point out of.........

Its not a fanboy war, I got a sports version of the Audi`s do you got the M to back up your track talk?
Laps around Hockenheim has been done with a Sedan version too, M3 was faster there too. Driver Horst von Saurma.

I didnt say Stig was a beginner, missunderstanding by you.

I dont own a M-car at the moment but my friends do and yes I have a drivers license.

If you want to continue with a fanboy war , I suggest you ask someone else. Its obvious we have different taste and opinions, we wont go any further. Thank you very much.

M3 hand's down.... for one reason and one reason only, it's a better drivers car....

Insane grip, superb engine, great sound, is less heavy and is RWD

M3:

Weight: 1570kg
0-60: 5.1s
0-100: 12.3
EVO rating: 5 star

S4:

Weight: 1700kg
0-60: 5.4
0-100: 13.4
EVO rating: 4 star

Well... against facts there are no arguments...

And the Facts say that the M3 is faster and more fun!

I know you tried to pull one on me, but it was Stig who did the driving and he is far from a beginner.....nice paddling dude......

Im not more involved in a fan war than you are chump.....we got different opinions thats obvious...

but tell you what I might go down to Germany for the 25 year anniversary for quattro this summer and then a couple of days at the ring to have some fun so in other words I might be game....

thats if you manage to borrow a M from one of your friends.......

sorry for the OT walk here to the thread starter, I`ll stop now...... ops:
yes I know who The stig is and what Top Gear is, I see it as often I can.

yes, you not more of a fan than me, thats for sure

I serious doubt that they will borrow me a M-car all alone, they've seen me drive

And just for your intrest, I take an Audi over a Mercedes anyday

If you enjoy driving you'd get the M3. Simple as that, audis are bland and uninvolving.

S4 for me anyday, but the M3 around town?... Have you ever driven slowly around with a SMG box?.... not very comfortable. It works on the track, but it's quite jumpy in the city.

I've raced an M3 around rockingham circuit and read all the reviews from respectable magazines on the two and it seems to me, if you want a better drivers car, the M3 is easily the better option....

The S4 is basically just a more powerful sharpened up A4 not a proper M3 rival as the upcoming RS4.

I agree the RS4 is a much more of an equal competitor, as it is also, like the M3 purpose buildt, and not a juiced up normal one

well the RS4 will be much more powerful than the M3. I don't think the M3 can compare to it in terms of pure power.
You mean a 400hp V8 4.0l for the M3 vs 425hp 4.2l V8 for the RS4?? I don't really see much of a difference to be honest, especially considering the new M3 will undoubtedly be lighter

i dunno much about the next M3 to be honest. i was thinking solely of the current M3.

is that 400hp confirmed for the next M3? the BMW will probably be lighter than the Audi, as usually the case is...
I'm pretty sure it is.... they got 507 out of the V10 so 400 for the V8 sounds about right.... just over 100hp/litre in both cases is fairly good especially for audi with their lack of NA engines recently.... although having said that; gallardo v10

IT has been confirmed from BMW that Z4M will get a V8 with about 400hp. Then we can al figure out that M3 will have a V8 too.

Regarding the current M3 and the current S4; I would choose the M3 over the S4.
I have driven the M3 and i haven been a passenger in an S4, I prefer the M3's characteristics and dynamics. On the straight line the M3 is faster than the S4 (DRY weather) in a track the result will depend on the morphology of the circuit and again the weather and offcourse don't forget the driver... 8)
