^^Actually, if I'm not mistaken, at least around the 'Ring the SLR is only 2 seconds quicker than the CLK DTM AMG, which is a minimal difference on a 20Km track. So yeah, dani is right, they're more or less at the same level.
Faster than the SLR??? The SLR set a very very good lap in Top Gear... don't think the CLK-DTM is faster... may be they're similar, but not faster. And probably there are less CLK-DTM than SLRs... but I prefer the second one, it has more... "style"???
The top gear track is so flat and feature-less that its not really a test of cars handling and balance. All comes down to grip and power. Whereas the nurburgring demands serious levels of handling, balance and feedback. Unless the driver is feeling suicial and very lucky! I certainly wouldn't want to try and apply the SLRs lightswitch brakes at speed on the rings twists, bumps and cambers.
