Land Rovers make the best, besides JEEP and the H1, known to man. Even the plush Range Rover can off-road with the best of them.

thats why i think mate !!! when somebody asks me for cayenne or touareg I sat its a "tall"Porsche and the "bastard"brother of cayenne, Stormer is more like a SUV, you can use Cayenne and Touareg ffor offroad, it has very very good apptitudes for offroad, but as you said, who the hell is going to make offroad with this cars......... In fact as time passes im getting more angry cause 4x4 constructors are evolutionating it to road, in other words, perfomance 4x4, still there are a little number of cars that are pure 4x4, like Mercedes G, Defender, Hummer H1 ( FU** H2)....

And other 4x4 (mitsubishi montero, land rover discovery, range rover, land cruiser etc... )are getting worse for offroad, cause

THIS NEW FUCKING FASHION WAVE TO HAVE A 4X4 FOR THE CITY.

IMO finally theres only going to be 4 or 5 pure 4x4... and as a offroad addict.... that fucks me a lot !!!

P.S: Cayenne and Touareg are not included in my black list, cuase they arent a 4x4 or a SUV, they are an hybrid of SPORTCAR and 4x4
your under estimating the touareg a bit, that suv is a great off roader. i would say its way ahead of most suv's available today.
Man what do you undestand for offroad?? take a Touareg to a rock crawling zone... youll see...

Man what do you undestand for offroad?? its not only sand floor, take a Touareg to a rock crawling zone... youll see... it will break easy... and i said also this: " P.S: Cayenne and Touareg are not included in my black list, cuase they arent a 4x4 or a SUV, they are an hybrid of SPORTCAR and 4x4 "

I love 4x4 more than sportacars, in fact i prefer a jeep wrangler rubicon instead a S4 or S3 or some like, i know what a touareg can do, see it in spanish madrid competitions and .... dont know how to say but usually last on points list....

Cya dudes!!

A Taurag is for getting through a few feet of snow, not going up some trails, or climbing muddy slopes. JEEP/Land Rover are for that. Now for crossing deserts and climbing rocks and crossing more deserts you cant go wrong with a H1.

Anyone else remember the specials that landrover did for judge dread the film? Well it fucked a range rover and this is their love child.
Looks like a toy car to me, and will blatently look nothing like that if it ever gets released.

^^ Oh yeah, and it looks nothing like the concept car in the initial post, it just looks like a downsized range rover with big alloys.

The first 3 pics in the initial post are of the range rover sport model, not the concept

I dont think they would've put scissor doors etc on a production model to be honest

For an SUV, its not too bad - but thts not really saying anything

Ok, i didnt pay any attention to the 1st few pics.
But the actual model looks like a slightly downsized range rover with silly side vents slightly different to the range rover ones.
I wish land rover would just make a more refined version of the defender that does everything the denfender does of present but with better road manors. I bet they'd get better sales then! (i drove a 300 Tdi defender 90 for a year).

A Porsche 959 won the Paris Dakar Rally, but that doesn't mean the road version is a true offroader A Touareg and a Cayenne can go off road, and are pretty good at it. But if the off road terrain becomes rough, you would get stuck with those cars. For this stuff you need a good old Jeep, LandCruiser, Defender, Niva, etc.

The Cayenne and Toureg are extremely exceptional cars. IMHO better than their Land Rover, Jeep, etc counterparts b/c they're the same/lower price, just as good if not better than, and they're German, so you know they've been engineered beyond reason. They can go off-road very easily and be driven on road with comfort, and goes like shit. I've been to the offroad track in Leipzig, and it used to be an ex-soviet proving grounds. I would take the Cayenne (with the airsuspension) over any of the Land Rovers, etc...

First river cross and youll have some electric problems with the touareg by the time...

But anywhere, and serial cars Cayenne and Touareg would win sure, it has many electric sistems for offroad, but IMO electric sistems for offroad sucks, with a toureg you can go offroad without experience, the electric sistems will help you, in fact its the car who climbs, you just choose the direction, and thats not offroad....
