Is it a Jaguar? The front lights are really ugly (Hyundai?) and the interior is not Jag at all: lots of plastic which I bet will be bad quality...

Oohh...all of you make such good points. I have to say, it's not as striking as the concept and the concept ruined the element of "surprise!", but it think it looks fine, if not great. It has all the proper proportions (at least on the pictures). all the details look fine and the shape is really pleasing. but i'll still have to look at it with my own eyes...and touch the sheetmetal...that always sends tingles to my brain...

the cabin looks great

just because your weened up on a mix of shit american telly doesnt mean its wrong to use decent english every now and then.

It doesnt really grab me at all. IMO it is not that stylish, the DB9 looks much better and for the price of this car, i dont see how anyone could consider it, theres nothing 'special' about it unless you love Jags. Thats just me talking but I wont completly bash it until its reviews

the only thing wrong with the lights is the fact that they swoop back to make an angle (which is what incidently alot of jap car co's do) thus looking like a El-Cheapo jap car, if they had rounded them forward (like the old XKR or XK8) even though it would look the same it'd still be damn fine, ah well work in progress i guess
sadly they did the same theme with the tailights so that from the side they look like a number mercedes, however looking straight on the back their a bit of an eye catcher.
as for the interiror i was initially impressed by the design, big improvement from the over worked and confusing XKR, it just looks more refined... i just hope they didnt use plastic.....

I'm not too fond of the styling considering these pics. There are bit too much resemblenses with the latest AM designs. Maybe thats cause Ian Cullum designed it. It should have looked a bit more Jag.

Your ignorance of European cultures shines like the sun, at noon, over the mexican desert.

There's nothing "posh" at all about crikey, bloody, and the rest of the UK-sourced expressions. The majority of the UK isn't what the Americans lead you to believe: i.e. posh, snobby, and ride horses with their noses turned up.

Maybe you should try travelling abroad sometime. You might just enjoy it.

Or your brain might just overdose on the reality of the real world, and you would just tip over and die.




Anyway, back to topic: Even after visiting the marketing machine-slash-website, my opinion still hasn't changed. It's dull. It's a big disappointment. It is just so glaringly obvious that Jaguar played it safe with the XK, just like Ford did with the new Focus, and ended up with something that isn't really sexy, doesn't really have any presence, and lacks any imagination at all.

It's a dull car. Period. And it's going to take a lot of effort from Top Gear and rest of the UK car magazines to sell this thing outside of the UK.

sorry to disappoint you TGT, but hte front lights do remind me of a Hyundai's...and the rest does indeed remind me of Aston Martins, although the original XKR/XK8 also looked alot like the DB7.

like on the XK180.

now there's a car they should've produced, it was one of the best looking concepts ever!
