I think it is only worth it to pay for images if they are going to be photo shoots by pros, shots on the street don't get into the "detail" I like

I like the idea of the supercar in its natural environment, on the street. It gives you the perfect idea of what it most be like to own such a car one day - and to be able to drive around the city!

And then the price must include the super-highres images catalogued and arranged - and archived and available on DVD

A site like www.the200mphclub.com is very expensive to create - not only because of the design and layout costs, but also because of the man-hours behind the whole project.

The membership-fee is actually not that high if you come to think of it - but we are open to suggestions- what else, other than high res. images and site-link in the members area, do the members at JW recommend that we include in the member-benefits?

btw the site has to be totally without advertisements - due to the fact that we want to make a unique supercar site without all the rubbish.

www.the200mphclub.com could easily become your favourite place, along with JW of cause , to watch and download supercar pictures - so help us to make this a success - submit your supercar pictures and become a member!

I second the opinion, that to see HI-RES pictures, you don't have to pay, just go to JW ,TT's, Oz's or similar page and you get them... since you're planing to allow memebr to upload, the pics won't be better than on other sites IMO, so I doubt you'll get a lot of paying members, sorry guys

The page itself is very nice, simple, stylish, elegant, congrats :good:
I also like the idea to have "very nice" pictures only!
most of the pics I've seen today on your site are nice, but if you claim
"only the best of the best" will be choosen, why below picture was choosen

To pay a small membership-fee - in exchange for nice high resolution photos is a small price to pay.....so to speak! It´s a way of getting a small amount of money to develop the site further. The site has not been cheap, as said before. Furthermore it has taken a great deal of time putting the site together and making it "very nice, simple, stylish, elegant" to quote stmoritzer above.

Again if the high resolution images isnt the answer to get a small amount of money to "survive" and develop then what? Any ideas???

I understand the idea of getting some money back for the huge effort you guys had to develope and maintain the site - on the other side, the 1600x1200 pictures (500Kb) we usually post are good enough for most I guess, bigger than most screens IMO
do you think many people need a filesize bigger than that, what for ( to print it out in A3 format ? )

and comming back to the above picture, nobody will pay for a hi-res version of this picture IMO (I don't want to critizise you guys or the photographer for this streetsighting picture) but do you think somebody will pay for this kind of picture ??

The site looks very stylish, but unfortunately I have to agree with the others about the payment thing.

If the photos were something out of this world I could agree, but in the end they are 'just' pics of cars seen on the street. This is available on so many sites already that I can't see many people paying for it.

In the end I do it for fun and to be able to share my pics, not to cover costs or make a profit. The man hours to maintain the site is all part of it, and something I enjoy doing in my spare time. There are plenty of fairly cheap hosting plans available too - mine only costs about $12/month (not that I am paying for it, but thats beside the point) for 300GB bandwidth per month.

Good luck.

TBH I have to agree with the other, i prefer TT's non intrusive google ads as a form of recouping some of the costs/ time he puts into it. Nicely put together design none the less

I would like to say, that you don't pay for the pictures! You pay for a membership!
Today members are able to download high res pictures and get their own link on the site!

But in the future many different benefits are going to be added - maybe a video-feature is going to be added - who knows!

I am currently trying to figure out how to make a login site for the members - but it is a bit difficult

I recommend that you keep visiting our site www.the200mphclub.com - because we are in a very progressive state - I reckon on the site developing fast in the next two weeks - by means of many new supercar pictures and member-benefits as soon as we create a login in the "members area"!

Stay tuned....
