I did, some hilarious comments. I particularly liked the "A++++, would read again" one

I've been in some messy houses, but nothing like that. A friends parents refuse to throw stuff out and I thought their mess was bad. They have nothing on this woman!
I hope they never have a fire!

The boxes in the shower topped it off- She didn't want to get the carpet wet when the door was open, so she put boxes in the shower...

lol!! its funny, but its sad.

His mother obviously has a HUGE problem.

If that problem proceeds the mother could turn out like that Mother in "Requiem For a Dream" ops: hah, nah, just a thought

This is what I would do if I were him:
1: Really talk to her about her problem and consult her to a therapist, possibly paying for her if she really refuses it
2: Sell that shit
3: Disconnect the PC (or password protect it if I use it alot)
4: Ask two people to help me organize the home

I have a problem similar to that where I just leave things allover place (hah, probably due to disorganization and pure laziness) but I end up cleaning it two weeks later which is just annoying, so I feel for the kid.

that's what i was thinking but i didn't actually see anywhere that warrents an infestation of rats. a shitload of dust and spiders yes but no rats. but a gallon of gasoline and a small match can change all that
