Awsome, its about time Porsche had a succesor to the 928.

The rear looks a bit like a vanquish in that pic

NO NO NO!!!...Porsche is making a HUGE mistake!...why the FUCK are they using the CGT fascia!!!...the new boxter is said to be a mini-CGT lookalike...and now this...they should leave the CGT looks to itself...with the concepts being shown lately...all Porsches are gonna look exactly the same...again...although I can't deny that this one looks really pretty...

well the 944 was the entry-level porsche, under the 911. Thats basically the Boxter now, and i dont think they'll turbocharge that

I like it a lot, I hope the real thing will have the same front as the CGT. This could
be a real rival for the 612.

well i doubt that very much: i think Porsche will make it a lot less expensive than the 612, just like the 928 was about half the price of the 456. Also, the 612 has some 500hp in its pretty V12, if the 928 had anything near that it would be faster than most 996's. (although the last 928, the GTS, had 350hp and did 275 kph, about equal to some of the 996's of this time. and that car was from '92).
I think it'll be more of a rival to the DB9 or some other Aston.

Yes, I agree with you, they can't make it too good, or else they would create a rival for the 996.

If i'd have to guess i think the price will be at or even above 996 Turbo level and the performance at carrera4S level. It will be quite luxurious(its a GT). now lets hope theyll really produce it, and maybe even make it RWD like the real 928, and make it a real 2+2, not a 4door luxury thing like a merc....

I am sure of that. When the 928 went out in 1995 it was selling for
$92k which, if my memory serves me correctly, was at least $10K
more than the Turbo.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The 612 is quite a nice car
and hard to beat. Then again, I have not heard enough about
either let allone driven in either enough(actually I haven't at
all) to be able to say which one will do better. But I can say
this with absolute certainty, even if it does tern out that this
beats the 612 it probably won't matter at all for Ferrari. Just
look at Rolls Royce(in the pre BMW years that is) they were
technically inferiore to the mercedes S Classe but they still
solled just because it was a Rolls Royce. You see, when it
comes to prestigious car makers like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and
Rolls Royce it's more the name, that mythe, that matters than
technical supurearity.

seems some ppl dont like the idea of porsche having 4 door car or having product that will ruin its tradition, but remember guys the market is more competitive than ever. if porsche is to survive in the future it has to expand its market, and i actually like the idea of new product from porsche. but so far nothing is confirmed so lets wait and c
