A 275GTB/4 will run you ~300k. A daytona is ~120k. For the 'general' garden variety, of course. Don't expect to find an alloy body 275GTB/4 CC for under 900, or a factory daytona spider for under 400, whereas a cut coupe will cost the same as a normal one.

BTW, stunning 911. And the 275GTB/4.... torque tube, long nose...no bumpers. Proabably the single most beautiful front-engined Ferrari to date. Absolutely stunning...

Sameerrao -> Well the rims are off a later Carrera2. They came with the car. Unfortunately the original rims where not with it. The SC's came out with a choice - The standard 15" ATS (Cookie Cutter) rims or the optional 16" Fuchs rims. Iwould prefer to get the Fuchs, but they are hard to find and quite expensive!

David Piper is probably most famous for losing his leg doing stunt driving for the film "Le Mans" with Steve MacQueen. At the end of the movie in the credits there is a reference and thanks to David Piper. He owns LOTS of really rare cars. If you have seen that video of Britain's top ten Ferraris, The green P4 is his as well. You can see his name on the back.
As far as I know he owns for a fact (having seen in the flesh except for P4): Ferrari P4, 250LM, 330P, Dino206SP replica, Ford F3L. I would like to know about everything he owns.

I know those models are not exactly expensive , but i do think they are a pain in the ass to fix it , i mean it has to be very expensive ...

I believe David Piper also has a large part in N.A.R.T...the famous american scuderia of blue;white, and later green ferraris....That's why all his ferraris are green (250LM and 33P for sure!!)

No worries. I like talking about my car. 8)

In dollars it was about $20000 in current exchange rate. It is VERY expensive as you can pick one up in the USA for about $10k-15k. South African classic cars are expensive because it is a small market any most old cars had to be imported personally.

As for maintenance its not bad at all. Services are about $200 at my private mechanic. But the little bits that break can be expensive.
And as my car has now done 259000 km (160000 miles), things do break.

Some things I replaced(including labour) at rough prices:
Aircon blower at $350
Fuel Injectors at $700
Brake disks at $350 per pair if I remember correctly.
Fuel Pressure regulator at $300
Timing Chain tensioners at $2500 (Upgrade to Carrera spec.)

Todo:
Gearbox Synchros at $3500.

So most repairs are roughly $300. But if something big goes - it can be expensive. That said - the car is VERY reliable. No breakdowns and I drive it quite hard, including some fun tracktime. Keep the mileage in mind...

For anyone after a cheapish Porsche I would recommend a 1987/88 3.2 Carrera. The SC was very low on power in the USA because of silly emmision legislation. About 172bhp as opposed to my 188bhp and the 1981 European at 204bhp. The Carrera runs about 230bhp and is slightly lighter. They should be in the $15k-20k bracket. Just find one with a good service record! 8)

I am not sure about the green, but it seems plausible. I know his P4 is green as featured on the 5th gear program where they had Britain's top-ten Ferraris. I did see the 330p and that was very red! 8)
The dino is red as well as the Ford F3L. I remember the 917 as being white with green stripes, but that's from long ago and I may be wrong.

I did not seem to find a good list of his cars online anywhere.
