Nope, he seems to be in the US (judging by his ISP)

And the R500 is hardly in the same league as the R500 in other areas. Those very areas for which you've slammed the Corvette. I mean, cross-shopping a C6 Corvette against an R500 and a Radical...really. Do you really have to go to such extremes to put the Corvette in such an unfavorable light? You seem to be forgetting that these things are good for the 0-100 mph sprint, and shortly after that, their performance drops off dramatically. At 100 mph, the Corvette is just getting into its stride, with some 80-odd mph left on tap. The Vette is going to be down on lap times against these trackday specials...but how close to the Corvette are these cars in other things, like practicality, comfort, long-distance touring, etc.? They don't do these things well at all, whereas the Corvette has already been called "fun" even in this TopGear video. Doing a cross-continent stint in an R500...now, I bet that'd be hardly fun at all. Try driving to work everyday in your Radical. Unless you're actively setting laptimes, the Corvette offers enough fun for most trackday purposes, while at the same time, blowing away these cars in other areas. Unless you have children, you can have a car for the track AND for the road. Even more so when the new Z06 is released, and if it's anything like the C5, it'll hardly cost anymore.

They ARE getting better (supposedly), but that's not the issue. The point is, there are still quality issues that would be shocking to find in most other manufacturers. You may know a fair few people who haven't had any prolbmes, but how does that reflect against those who HAVE had problems? Just take a look at this thread, as an example:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/t...115388&f=7&h=0
TVR quality may be getting better, but that doesn't tell you how abysmal it was in the first place. Sorta like saying a Pontiac Grand Am handles better than a '60s era GTO. It's probably true, but it's not saying much.
People complain about how "shocking" the interior of the C6 is for its price, yet they gloss over completely how shocking it is that many TVR's don't even do 15K miles before their first (and in some cases, 2nd) engine rebuild. You don't expect the performance that TVR offers for the price. But would you DO expect is that the quality control should be there, as well as the reliability/durability. But you get neither. Now, in light of this, how does the TVR fare against the Corvette?

Yes, I get it. People expect that a 40K sports car should be quicker than a 911 AND it should have an interior just as good as a 911's. Because as we all know, Porsche 911's are, after all, only 40K.
With reviews like this (showing that a C6 is slower than a standard NSX), while at the same time mentioning absolutely nothing of TVR's quality problems, is it any wonder then that no one wants to buy a Corvette?
EDIT: Not to mention reading a review in which both the Z06 and Tuscan S get 4 stars, and in closing they write:
"Let's just say that they all finish joint third."
Somehow, people should conclude that they rated the TVR higher? Surely, there's a problem here.

Uh, yeah, if you're talking about me, then that's right. Thought they were talking about the reviewers in Evo.

Exactly, if they were are as good as you lot are posting then why aren't they selling more of them over here ??!!?
Well if the TVR's are soo good why aren't they selling over-here?
Oh yeah because they don't officialy sell them here! dumbass.
that's why they don't sell that many Z06's in Europe but the fact that there are more Corvette's in Europe than TVR's in the US must say that they are a good car for all you superior  car people.

the stereotypes thrown around here are laughable. gm should secretly send the z06 in a body kit to top gear and say it was built in the uk. clarkson would probably buy one before the show aired...

Guibo, as i already stated, the track day cars are only a FEW of the cars i mentioned that i would consider better than the vette in MY OPINION.

But seeing as though you insist on sticking to the R500, for one its performance does not drop off after 100mph, it continues to push hard all the way to its top speed of 150mph and im willing to bet that it will beat the corvette all the way to 150mph. Taking into a recent Autocar track test for britains best drivers car, it had the highest top speed down the striaght with 130mph, the next closest was the gallardo with 125mph...... Also consider it will amost match an enzo to 100mph and then beat it on the way back down to 0.

As for long distance touring, theres alwasy been a few caterhams on the every Gumball so far and many Britains travel reguarly to Le Mans and monaco in them, they can't be all that bad....

As for the 911 comment, i see you failed to take into account all the other rivals i mentioned....

If the risks, expenses, and overall disadvantages outweigh the advantages, a corporation is better off keeping their product at home. Wouldn't that make sense?
So why do they bother selling them in europe then if they didn't think they had a chance of selling? Seems pretty ignorant/stupid or theres been a misjudgement by the big cheeses at GM ad they haven't realised that theres so many better rivals....

I never said the vette was a bad car, it does well in most departments but theres better options....

Well if the TVR's are soo good why aren't they selling over-here?
Oh yeah because they don't officialy sell them here! dumbass.

Indications are that there is a fairly large market for TVR's in the US, as well as cars like the Elise as sale figures will prove.

There are more corvettes in europe than TVR's in america because GM actually sells them here and TVR dosen't sell them in the states....

You are forgetting the fact that British companies like TVR, Morgan, Noble and Lotus are all small companies with low production cars. It is significantly harder for them to sell abroad than it is for huge multi national companies like GM - probably one of the biggest in the world....

LOL@considering a R500 for daily use based on Gumball. Cars don't get more impractical than that.

F1 racecars do 300 km's in a race....how's that for some distance touring...?
Last year a Citroen 2CV entered Gumball as well. Have you ever even SEEN a R500 ?

I give shit about your personal opinion, but the way you back up those opinions are pathetic...

I've mentioned them all on recent previous pages.

I've never said the vette was a shit car, i said theres a wide variety of better options to choose from.

I also said at the end of the day its down to personal preference, if you're so blind and ignorant to see statements then whats the point in having this discussion.
