Dan/Thamar: any performance improving tips/software/stuff i can do to just speed up everything/make everything more efficient on my laptop slightly without changing any hardware configurations and anything thats likely to make components any hotter?

LOL you guys all speak some alien language 0X Still a good JW competition in which i am waaaaaay off the pace...... would my poorly hard disk be something to do with this? cos otherwise i believed my laptop to be resonably fast (2.8ghz and 1gb RAM) but it took well over 7mins (twice as slow as you guys ) Anyway may the best comp win

nope sorry AL, hard disk will have no impact on this test, its pure cpu power and memory latency/bandwidth

A new time... 6m 35s. I won't be able to reach the bear, jabba, etc. but I'd to put some pressure on my laptop to cut 15 seconds and that meant to stop almost all processes.
It is supposed my laptop is P4 M, 512 MB ram, 2.2 GHz
