Looking good. Have you had a chance to take that little beastie to a road course and enjoy all the add-ons yet?

yep, took it to a small track that we have around here (actually the only one) and it did pretty good...... in the corners, down the straights i couldn't pass anyone, but then again the only other "slow" car on that day was my friends Audi TT quatro the rest were all Porsches, BMW M3s and some american V8s

how much will it cost you to get all the parts for a turbo kit? my friend says it took him like $3,200 to get every thing he needed, including injectors, fuel pump, fpr, boost controller, used Apexi S-afc, a 13g turbo off a second gen eclipse and custom made manifold, he is using an intercooler from a 96 Talon tsi that he got from ebay for like 100 bucks, but of course he did all the welding, cutting and made his own piping, he does have the 4 cyl GS model like yours, he is now making 267fwhp and trapping 109mph and 13.xx sec quarter on pump gas and get this, he has the tiptronic trans, which is a feat of great proportions, at 7 psi but of course also his car has no ac and he is on stock internals so he can't push it too much yet, I believe there is potential for your car, I don't think that was a lot to spend to be faster than even the newer V6 eclipses, but I must also mention that he gutted the car of almost all creature comforts and back seats are gone

I calculated it to be the roughly the same for the parts (in USD, exchange rate will rape me a bit in these times) but i'd also have to spend money on tuning (haven't got a clue how to tune) and a new computer either piggy back or standalone, and add on all that taxes and shipping for some of the parts to canada and it would total up to almost $6000 Cad. in my opinion it's not worth it for an extra 80 or so hp.
So i was just thinking of keeping it NA and add some headers and a proper cold air intake and continue working on the suspension and then in 2 or 3 years sell it for a car that comes stock with a turbo that i can then upgrade, my car currently has almost 200,000km

get a second gen eclipse GSX, easiest car to mod there is and is AWD turbo, heck even a VR4, but I must tell you that modding a VR4 is not cheap, not for one second, neither is the FD, I dumped close to 25 grand in my FD over the years... that is why that car is never getting sold, I am planning on getting my hands on a supra one of these days... just so I can open my garage and see all three in there, hopefuly I'll be able to with my bonus, in 5 years my little girl will be able to drive... I may get her an eclipse, I am not sure yet

Update march 27 2010
Rear drum to Evolution 8 disc swap
This is what the drum looked like inside..... plenty of meat still left on the shoes
Drum and Hub off, caliper and line on
All back together
so now my car has the same braking system as a rally car
took it out for a test drive earlier today and what a difference disc brakes make. stopping requires even less brake pedal force and it is one of the best upgrades i've done
