It says WA, unless my eyes are deceiving me. I also was in email contact with the owner and he said he keeps the car in the NT because he finds there are too many 'car morons' (his words) in this state (WA) - plus the fact you can drive alot faster up there

Your eyes are deceiving you. Take a look at this close up of the plate from my 2592x1944 copy of that photo.
I am also have email contact with the owner and the reason the Murcielago is kept there is because he lives in Alice Springs.
