Yea don't get me wrong, I'm not discrediting it at all, just stating the facts. I'm as impressed as anyone that they found a way to eek out 1080i-esque visuals out of a system that is supposedly incapable of it.

Im not sure about the online thing, but when I reserved it at Sam Goody it was kind of a "what if i cant get it anywhere else" deal. It was also early in the year so they were not sure about the bundle price or contents. According to the manager it would probably be 3 games in the bundle. So I assume the total cost from there will be around 800-900 dollars.

F.Y.E on the other hand, actually had a SKU number and everything. The paper didnt have a price, but it said PS3 conole (60gig). He also said that they didnt deal with bundles, as they sold the 360 w/o bundles. So I think its legit. It cost me 50 to reserve at both places.

I had an 8086/8088... NEC V20... that thing was a killa....

[edit] and now that I think about - other than the occasional game or video edit, I probably do no more taxing tasks on the P4 at home than I did on the XT clone... which really means all our blaoted software, web-browsing "must have work a day" computing is really self serving

Great, great spoof.

I may just get a Wii. With a kid on the way, it would be great to have some simple fun, Mario Kart and all.

No one knows about America. I am betting they will lower the prices in March in order to compete with the 360. But as far as I know rite now its only in Japan. I am just very pleased that they put the HDMI in both the 20 and 6 0gig versions!

A notable device using this new connnector is the PS3. If you want a proper HDMI 1.3 setup you'll need to wait 1-2 more years from now to get it.

HDMI 1.3

Released 22 June 2006.[1] [2]
  • Increases single-link bandwidth to 340 Mhz (10.2 Gbps)
  • Supports 30-bit, 36-bit, and 48-bit (RGB or YCbCr) color depths or over one billion colors, up from 24-bit in previous versions.
  • Supports xvYCC color standard.
  • Incorporates automatic audio syncing (lip sync) capability.
  • Supports output of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio streams for external decoding by AV receivers.[3] TrueHD and DTS-HD are lossless audio codec formats used on HD DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. If the disk player can decode these streams into uncompressed audio, then HDMI 1.3 is not necessary, as all versions of HDMI can transport uncompressed audio.
  • Availability of a new mini connector for devices such as camcorders.[4]
