^ Yeah I don't like the back either. Almost too big aka Corvette like.

The front is nice, both w/ Enzo lights or the 612 Bubble lights works well here.

Over all very sexy looking car. Definitely a step up from the 575M.

What is up with modern Ferrari's obsession with a "family look" to their cars? They never bothered with this in their stylistic heydays 40 years ago - each car was designed to perform it's designated function.

Ferrari is turning their own product into a boutique fashion accesory again.

The 5550/575 design should simply have been evolved - not had pieces from other cars "added on" and "worked in" to the new car.

Err... Early assumptions anyone?

Come on, it's not like that will be the final thing... It's just another Photoshop.

As you can see in Dani's post one page back, it's still waaay to disguised to tell how it will look like.

Even tough I think it won't happen, if it did I don't think most people would appreciate that...

The 550/575M design is actually one of my favourites by Ferrari - it's just right in my opinion. Like a GT should look like: a bodybuilder in a Armani suit, like someone called it.

However, I get the impression that it's not exacly the most loved design by most people; I'd call it understated. Maybe the V8's success has something to do with this, I don't know...

Thatnks for the confirmation - what you are pointing out is that once again, Enzo is spinning in his grave as Ferrari panders to the boutique crowd who are more into looks than substance.

Sure, the full blown competition stuff goes fast - but take note how many open top 360s they sold - on looks alone..

The 550/575 lineage is just as perfect as the 365 Daytona was. Front egine RWD V12 perfection.

Any resemblance to the 612 is bad. I still dislike the 612. A Ferrari should not try so hard to look good - their best designs fall naturally onto paper and translate superbly into metal and look as good in person.

You'd think that blending the design of two beautiful cars like the 612 and the Enzo would bring a positive result. You'd be wrong It's not all that bad, but definatelly no up to the companys standards

OMG!! These last photoshops posted by mv look awesome. I love the car. It seems I'm the onlyone.

It's simple and very attractive. The front bumper looks the same as the old Ferrari's.

Hehe, I beg to differ.

It's true, a lot of posers buy Ferraris, but I don't think it's Ferrari's fault. Really, they don't need to - they already sell less cars than what they could. As I see it, what happens is that when you have a strong brand like Ferrari, that causes that 'Wow' factor, you'll attract posers no matter what... It's just the way that the World works today I guess. And this happens everywhere...

Of course that the way the Auto industry evolved helps too - today the cars are safer, more confortable, easier to drive, etc... Now, even more, cars aren't just a way of one enjoying him/herself or a transportation - they're jewerly too (AllanLambo being a good example ). A way to tell your neighbor that you have more money than him... So, I think it's just a case of the wrong people with the right money, something of which I don't think Ferrari has the fault.

But of course that if you asked me if I'd perfer Ferrari's to be more old fashion, without power steering, electric seats, ect than my answer would be 'Fuck yes!'. But sadly, an F40 like car nowadays wouldn't even be street legal... So yeah, there's not much Ferrari could do (hell, as things are they barely have any profit). And I, for once am quite happy with what they've been doing nowadays and will continue to be (as long as they don't pull a crazy move, such as a SUV).

So no, I don't think Enzo is spinning on his grave. Actually, as you know, he never cared too much about the road cars - they were just a way to keep the F1 team alive. And with 6 WCC's in 6 years, I don't think he'd complain.

You're dead right about the 360 Spider tough, but once again I think it's due to the factors already mentioned. As Enzo said: "Many can be Ferrari owners, but few can be Ferrari drivers." So it's nothing new really...

In the end, if I owned a Ferrari, I wouldn't care about how many posers drive one, as long as I still enjoy my ride.

Indeed, it is. But that doesn't imply that the 575's sucessor won't be perfect too. And for me, it should be a all new design - I like Porsche, but would certainly be disappointed if Ferrari followed the 911 route on the 575's sucessor. What's done is done.

Any resemblance to the 612 is bad. I still dislike the 612. A Ferrari should not try so hard to look good - their best designs fall naturally onto paper and translate superbly into metal and look as good in person.
I'll only judge it when I see the first official pictures, but I don't think they'll make it similar to the 612, which I actually happen to like quite a lot. But that's subjective of course.

Actually, I think the 612 is a good example of a non posers car. It's less spectacular than the other Ferrari's, which I believe was Ferrari's intention. It does its job as a 2+2 GT very well. Confortable enough (yet not "old fart" oriented like a Continental GT or a Merc), but also very sporty for a car of its kind - just like a Ferrari 2+2 should be in my opinion. I liked the route followed by Ferrari on the 612 - unlike Bentley, they didn't sell out to the football players and rappers with fancy chrome rims and unnecessary gizmos. Just see how may drive a 612 compared to the Continental GT.

But now you can ask: well, then by saying this, one could say that Ferrari did sold out to posers with the F430?

I think not, it's just that the V8's are more popular by themselves, and therefore attract more posers, and not the other way around.

Damn, I can't believe I've just wasted so much time talking about posers...

Ah, and sorry about the thread hijack... ops:

The side view kinda reminds me of a C6 Corvette...

Like Nuno said, theres so much speculation going on right now based on camo that it's impossible to tell what the car will be like. Yet, based solely on body proprtions, I think it is following the 550 lineage of sorts, it's an incredibly muscular look. Also, Ferrari is intentionally disguising the car to resemble the 612 in order to hide any distinct character before it's release, as every car company does. It's obvious the front lights will be very different, jugding from the rough black camo shaping the light in a 612 shape.

Also, in terms of poseurs, Enzo loved them. He sold tons of cars to the super rich(if you remember, the 612 has hints of the car made for the famous Italian producer's wife), and he even had some of them race, and unfortunately, die in his F1 cars. Enzo wasnt a man interested in who drove his cars, he was interested in building the fastest race cars. Hell, even if you jugde ferrari by it's drivers, all the porsche owners around me are far worse. There just as old, not as rich and look just as stupid driving a car they never drive hard to begin with.

I actually like it, looks very TVR like from those pics,,,,,,but lets wait and see. We all thought the Enzo was brutal in the beginning, well, now that I saw one I think its one of the most beutiful cars hyper cars ever.

They said the 430 was ugly, I think it looks great.

And the 612 is not ugly, its an elegant car, saw one on the street and just has incredible presence, and it is what its supposed to be, an elegant 2+2 with shit loads of power.

Im sure this will be good.

I still can't believe that people are judging the "600 imola" based on the TEST MULE or on shitty PHOTOSHOPS!!!!

WAIT AND SEE FOR THE REAL THING!!!!!!!

And to those that don't like current Ferrari designs, its all a matter of taste. I respect those who don't like them, but keep in mind that Ferrari can't just live in the past... their designs must evolve, as does their technology. The new designs are what defines the new age of Ferraris. Wait and see: in a few years, these new designs (a la Enzo, 612 and F430) will be considered classics....

My €0.02...
