Thanks st-anger for the SA scans. I had no idea the Audi RS 4 was that quick being as heavy as it is. How does Audi and BMW do it?

...well, just seeing e.g. NS time one´d say - wow, only 2 sec - BUT, look again, and look at the HHR time...also nearly 2 secs - TWO seconds is fucking a lot at HHR, to say it, too much to ocmpare two equal cars...
the RS4 gains from it´s power at NS, 80hp+ with lot´s of straights and fast bends in combination with AWD typical fool-proof handling at the limit is definitely a plus for the RS4´s NS lap time...
BUT, on a kinda narrow track like HHR - like all AWD Audis ( unfortunately ) understeering is the limiting factor, a Audi doesn´t want to be thrown into a corner - understeering´d kill any lap time - with an RS4 one has to be gentle at the entry and has to be on the accl sooner - well, doesn´t work that good in the RS4 in combination to the RS6, the RS6 just shoots out of the corner but the RS4´s understeering here as well...
nevertheless, Audi´s Quattro GmbH is testing all cars at NS as well and this influences the good setup - definitely - but again, such cars aren´t very suited for excessive track driving, not only e.g. the RS4 is understeering way to much, after two fast laps the brakes suffer A LOT - :roll: the weight...

BMW is another topic - they´ve always been among the best at NS, ///M GmbH has more or less same testing program like PAG and i think we needn´t talk about the sports car qualities of all the current ///M cars...

u can order it from PAG so no custom color...

Thank you so much st-anger . I was really hoping to find this article because I think it talks about the narrowed dynamic handling of the MKII compared to the MKI see http://www.motorworld.net/forum/show...181697&#181697 .

It is hard to read some parts of the scan but does anyone know on which page this is discussed. I know it is a lot to ask but is there some one that speaks German that could translate this. If not I can try and use a translation page, however these don’t usually provide a good translation :x .

it´s on the last page of the "scan" - sorry for the poor quality.... ops:
but u needn´t work through this all night, u can read everything that´s in the article in my post u provided the link to - in the article there´s no additional info - unfortunately...

...i read again what i´ve written back then there in "model over" and i can´t think of any better explanation myself, it´s simply a combination of some reworked suspension parts, new (wider) tyres and the upwards pushed setup - resulting in a kinda tricky behaviour - but AGAIN - only SA "discovered" this in their tests at HHR and NS when driven at the limit - it´s no big deal under normal driving conditions, but we have to admit that the MkII COULD have been better...
