Of course I am taking it seriously...it is a competition isn't it...and its prob one that is gonna cost me £300 for new memory and another processor...I need 6 secs to overtake the Bear.

Dan has got a new competition for us as well that is coming soon.

Hey ... no ... one of the rules is that you cant buy new stuff for the competition
Haha

Today got a new psu to get more overclock but failed , now selling the current one to get a new more Ocer one
I think the competition is pretty much finished...it is now time for round two.

Well the new AMD Winchester chips have real potential. AMD 64 3000 (running @ 2.7 Ghz OC) with standard out of the box cooling.
Benchmarks (in German)

The chip only costs 140 Euros....
I'll say that should give Dan a run for his money....

So here are my results from my laptop. (6.05)

Aww Crap forgot the done button... so here is one with the "done" button (6.09, could not be bothered to switch of all programs in the background)

Checkout the Stats on the CPUID prog.
I wonder if your laptop was running at full speed , from the start of teh calculation. MAybe it first switched to full speed after a short delay, causing you to loose a few seconds...
