It could be maybe.. a "4" and a 4S.. and then what in the 996 range was the C4S wich will need a new name to avoid beeing confused to the Carrera 4S we see in these pics.. what a mess

It has the same 4 wheel drive system from the 996. I guess we will have to wait till the turbo for the new AWD system.

But remember, the 996 had two body styles. Where as supposedly the 997 only has the Wide body style. So you would not really expect this to have the "turbo look".

In fact, the Turbo should be the same thing except for the bumpers and what not. It does not need to be flared out like the 996 aka "turbo look".

Right?!?!

the new turbo look is horrible or is it just me?!

And how many new models do we got here?
1. Cayman
2. 997 and 997s, 997cab, 997 4 and 997 4s.

A lot of pitcures is gonna be saved here...

That little spoiler thingy on the cayman looks ridiculous IMO...its too small to look good, it looks like it's just a piece of plastic that was accidentally glued on there
On the other hand i don't think a large wing would look good there...i htink an integrated wing ou;d maybe do nicely...who knows...

yeah i know that...but the boxter's rear is sort of flat, while the Cayman's is steep, and somehow i think it looks awkward

one more GT3

about Carrera4 S, there will probably be a "turbo-look" option once the 997 Turbo is released, Porsche already did this in the past (964,..)

More 997 C4 & C4S pix.

No turbo looks anymore for the C4S...It's sad

I think there maybe a change in front, b/c all of the official C4S pictures do not show the front of the car, and Porsche did the same exact thing when the 997 came out. I think it'll have the same front end of the Turbo, and they're saving it untill the Turbo and C4S are both released (Turbo first, or both at same time?)

But how will they call it since now the C4S will just be the 3.8 version of the Carrera with 4 wheel drive?

Man. The new c4's have great looking rims...I never really liked the ones on the c2's

Are the engine spec's identical to the c2 997's?

Yep, saw those a couple of minutes ago on rennteam and I'm still wondering why the hell does the GT3 have PCM...

Also, I have a question for you st-anger, regarding the engine used on the 997 GT3 (if you can't answer I understand):

Will it have the M97 engine or a modified 3.6 from the previous generation?
