btw is this swap legal in UK? I know in Germany its possible to do legally but not here in czech

yea perfectly legal,if you declare it to your insurance company.which Jon and everyone who does this upgrade does,i mean he cant tell the insurance company its still a fiesta 1.25,lol.the conversion jon has done is a common one with fiesta owners,stickin the 1.7 ford puma engine in,only difference is Jon has done the full on dogs dangly bits version of makin it a 1.7 racing puma engine,lol

What can I say, I am really loving the car. It has given one or two people a shock I can tell you that! One good thing (bearing in mind future plans) is that there is absolutely no torque steer.

It is funny how, once you do all the main work, the little finishing touches take AGES! I still have to get some interior trim, change the lock on the fuel cap e.t.c All in good time though.

I think I have got used to how quick it is - I am starting to feel the need for more power Having said that, I followed a brand new BMW 330i down a slip road and kept it honest - we were both tanking it to get past a row of cars. That was good fun. I was expecting it to pull clean away though.

Oddly, the new Golf GTIs at the cars that get pissed with the fez most over here.

The future plans are still there - I am not going to Turbo the Racing engine though. There are only 500 of them and I think that would be sacrilidge! Instead, I am going to buy a normal - run of the mill - 1.7 puma engine. Whack it on an engine stand and start building a Turbo conversion based around the 'disco potato' as it is strangely referred to - or the Garrett GT28RS in normal speak.

Anyway, the car will 100% be at the next NS meet for some of you to see.

What other changes have happened in the land of Jon's cars? Well, we now have a brand new Suzuki Swift thing which is actually a really nice little car for buzzing around London in.

The Saab 95 Aero also died a painful death - the gear box blew up (literally) on a full acceleration out on to a very busy and fast road. Luckily, no one was hurt and no one crash into the car. However, we were a little stuck - we had just bought a brand new car the weekend before (again, literally) so umm, well, we were not expecting to have to buy another one!!

Needs must and all that - another Aero was bought and now graces our drive. I shall get some updated pics up in a day or two....

got a question for you though Jon,are you finding 1st gear a problem with it not giving you full power? i dont know if you Know Drew (DrewHughes at zsoc) he has an FRP'd ZS,a black one called the stealth bomber,possibly the nicest looking ZS i seen to be honest,but he cant get first gear to have full power due to the traction control,reckosn he only gets 30% power from 3000rpm onwards and then it takes off in 2nd gear............you have the same problem or not?

Nope, but I have disabled TC. The car really does not need it as long as you have decent tyres on.

My first gear is actually really quite strong.
