Default Mclaren Drinking Ban

http://www.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlin...20140834.shtml

Ron Dennis has banned McLaren's 2007 driver lineup from drinking alcohol.

Despite Ferrari-bound Kimi Raikkonen's supposed alcoholic indiscretions during his tenure in 2002-2006, the Woking based team's chairman suggested that the only sips taken by Lewis Hamilton or world champion Fernando Alonso this year should be champagne on the podium.

After his drivers trained with Olympic athletes in Finland, Dennis told the Mirror: "We don't see why drivers need to have even

one drink in the course of a season.
"

The irony of Dennis' stance, however, is that whiskey sponsor Johnnie Walker's McLaren-associated slogan for this year is: "Be a champion. Drink responsibly."
I think it is a bit overkill, the reason why Kimi drinks and party is mostly becoz Ron's car keep fucking up. I don't see any reason why gentle wine at dinner will hurt the driver.

For fun? Ron Dennis is a party pooper. No wonder nobody likes him.

I noticed that a lot of sports are starting to take this stance. For example a few of the baseball teams have banned alcohol in the club house because of indiscretions by a few players.

I don't think that is a bad idea.

Hey, i din't think it's such a bad idea. Also the fact that bahrain now owns 30% of mclaren (2nd biggest shareholder in the mclaren group) might have had something to do with it.

Why on earth did they bring a Spaniard and an American to train in here anyway? Ron seems to have some strange Finnishfetish.

Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton should horde all the champagne they get when/if they reach podiums, because Ron Dennis can't tell them not to drink that.
