Bat Mitzvah with some of the music biggest sellouts!
50 Cent is said to have earned 500,000 dollars for less than 30 minutes work at a Bat Mitzvah for the daughter of multi-millionaire David H. Brooks. Brooks, who ironically made his money in the body armor industry, paid a total of 10 million dollar for the days entertainment, who also included Nelly, Ciara, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Joe Perry and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Joe Walsh and Don Henley of The Eagles, Kenny G and DJ AM for the party held at the Rainbow Room in New York City. Brooks is said to have chartered his company jet to pick up Tyler and Perry from their Saturday concert in Pittsburgh and paid them $2 million to play a 45-minute set.

well when you do somthing just for the money you are a sellout.
not all that bad, the band KISS says they are the biggest sellouts, they "sellout out everyday, sellout arenas"

Bullshit.
Entertainers don't do their job only because they like making music so much. It's business, and they simply get paid what a fool wants to pay. It's their market value appearantly.
These "artists" are just doing their job. Don't be so naive dude....

I am sure there are plenty of bands/artists out there that wouldn't do a show like this one

its their jobs??
i can look at it both ways.
they make enough money and don't need to be going to peoples house for a price.
then, they are entertainers and well they are nice enough to do that, but the 2million that Tyler and Perry got is ridiculous and thats a bit of a sellout.[/quote
Money talks.

Selling out would be it the guy paid 50 cent to dress like a clown and play boy band music. If this is considered selling out then so is every other artist that ever did a concert.

I think that playing a private event is worthwhile - as long as the money (all of it) goes to a good cause. :bah:
Otherwise, i think that it is entirely up to an individuial if they have the cash, and somebody is willing to play, that's fine
I mean, if you were in a band Toronto... a popular one, but hadn't made much money, and were offered say $2M to play for Trump, would you decline? I sure as fuck wouldn't

so how is getting paid to perform for lots of ppl not selling out but playing for a select few is selling out? Either way you are performing for fans the only difference is the amount.
