Hang tough in there buddy. Just be there and support your dad, that will be the best way through a recovery. Mental health is just as important as physical health.
We are here for you.

Don't know how I missed this topic TGNL.. all the best to your dad and hope he comes out the other end refreshed and "less stressed".
Does he have a sports car?
Tell him the greatest stress relief you ever experienced is when you are headed home at the end of a stressful day/week/month year and just "punch the gas pedal".
Do that 3 or 4 times from a standstill and you forget all stress that ever existed...
But as an accountant, maybe you dad would get stressed abotu the prcie of the car hehe (j/k)
Remember, JW is here for your stress relief..

The doctors have good stuff for all that you mentioned. Especially with back, shoulder, neck problems they can be very painful, if your doctor can't seem to help, look for another.
Seven is my lucky number, next year will be better for everyone.
My best wishes to you and your family on the comming year.

Thinking positive is the key. He's awake, so I hope he's on the mend and getting better.

Update 10 Jan:
Well my dad is still in intensive care, totally paralized. He is still on the ventilation but they are taking him off more often to let him get used to breathing himself again. He's mentally ok although very very tired.
He moved his leg and feet this week and I saw him move his hands although it just could have been a reflex Im hoping he gets his feeling back.
I want to thank everyone for their support!
